Instructor Training Part 2 - Driving Ability

When you have passed the Part One - Theory & Hazard Perception Examination, arrangements are then made for the practical 'in car' tuition.

The aim of this module is to cover specific training for the Part Two examination and to introduce some practical elements necessary for the PT Three examination. This will be concerned mainly with fault analysis and classification.

The Part Two exam is of an advanced nature and a very high standard of competence is required. You must show that you have a thorough knowledge of the principles of good driving and road safety and that you can apply them in practice.

The routes used during this test include roads which may carry considerable or fast moving traffic. They will be both inside and outside built-up areas. You will be expected to show that you can make brisk progress within the legal speed limits and with safety.

At the beginning of your training, an assessment of your driving skills will have been made, helping us to tailor the training to your needs. A mock exam is set at the end of the module. If at this stage you have not reached the required standard, further training will be offered at no extra cost.

After passing this examination you will be given extra home study material to help you to re-cap on studies for the PT Three exam (Instructional Ability)

As some students find it difficult to take time off work, this training can be arranged on a part-time basis. For such students separate training lessons can be arranged.
